Is there any way to do a reverse clip cube where you can clip out an rectangle area and leave the outside area instead of the other way around?

You can achieve those results by drawing a polyline and turning on the knockout feature. the info will still be there, but it will not plot.
Can be tricky to make sure the knockout is after the xref and before the other drawing(s) you might wish to place in the void area.

You can do this for XClips by adding points into the space you want to clip and then wrapping around the area you want to clip out. It's similar to how you clip around an image as show in this video. Trick is that the polyline can't cross over it's self. Points can co-exist at the same point, but the polyline can cross over. Sometimes you will get an error about crossing, if you do you can usually just in close enough and just pick next to the point in question. The print pen width output usually fills in the gap fine.
