How do I remove the lines around an image that I have inserted into a DataCad drawing?

Right click on the image, Pick the Polyline Properties at the top, and change the "Show Fill Outline" to No.
When inserting the image, the menu will change and give you that option just before you define the rectangle.

Thank you Roger. One more question. Is there a way to not make it a big white box? I can print it fine but on the screen it blocks out the line work behind it.

put it on a layer that is earlier in the list, and under display set Layer Order to be either In Order or last, which have the line work layer being the active layer.

only working partly. Is there no way to make the white of the box transparent like you can do in Microsoft Word?

If it is white, it won't show up on the paper.
