Finally getting around to install version 18.

From my saved email I was able to get the download manager which downloaded the setup file. Clicked to start the installation ....then nothing. Just an hourglass on my desktop for a long time.
Rebooted my computer. Clicked the setup file. Nothing. Just the hourglass.
Rebooted. Downloaded the setup file from the DataCAD website.
Clicked on it. Just an hourglass on my desktop for a long time. (for 4 hours since I had to leave the office for meetings)

This is a newer 6 month old computer and was able to install version 17 with no problem 6 months ago. I am running Windows 7 Pro and Avast Antivirus.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried disabling real-time virus scanning?

Hi Mark,
Tried various toggles in Avast but to no avail. Then uninstalled Avast altogether. That worked and I was able to install 18. Something in Avast didn't like DataCAD :-)
