Smart Arrows

For some reason, the style of my Smaht Arrows keeps reverting to closed but not filled and aspect 3.0; even though I have set it to filled and aspect is 5.0. It seems to happen when I Alt-I on ParaText. Is the arrow style embedded in text? If so, how can I change ALL text to the correct arrow setting?
