......is anyone aware of a place that I can get plan views of gym equipment? Treadmills, bikes, lifty uppy things, pully downy things etc. etc. Thanks.

I usually go to Sketchup 3d warehouse and find a model.

We have a couple of symbols I could email you. PM me with your email address.

Thank you Gents. The Sketchup Warehouse was great. It did take a little effort to get things down to manageable 2D symbols

I sometimes do a 3d hide command on the plan view to simplify the image.

Thanks Roger, I did do the 3D hide first up, but you are still left with squillions of lines. All the curved bits turn to small lines. I was left with the alternative of moving some lines to another layer or lots of deletes. I opted for deletes. Also, I deleted all entities on a line of symmetry, sorted that and then mirror copied the remainder, and then grouped it all. Was a bit tedious buy it is all done now. 2D Gym Equipment symbols anyone?
