I do just what the online manual says to do:
1. Create A Layer Set
2. Pick create "On Layers"
3. Click Begin and save to a file name
4. Go to another sheet (drawing)
5. Select "Load Layer set"
6. Select the .dls file I just created/saved
7. What does it do.....the darn thing loads the on layers that I selected AND all the ones that I had turned off ; which it was not suppose to do..... I'm missing LYURTIL a lot!

What is the fix?

Hi Brady,

Did you have either Views or Details toggled on, when you created the layer set? If so, then it seems to cause this. Try it with those two toggled off.

It may still be a bug - I interpret those options to save any GTV's and / or MSP Details that used those layers. But, maybe I'm wrong?

That should work.
Another way, is in the one file make your layer set a view.
Go to the new drawing, and File/Import from the other file, and select only that view, and turn off all other layers. Then import.

Hi Brady,

I used to miss stickyback but with the cut <ctrl-e> /paste <ctrl-v> in the edit menu you can do what you want easily. With the layers you want on, do a cut. When inserting into the new file you can either insert on original layers or the active layer. And if you insert to original layers and those layers already exist in your file you will not get duplicate layer names like with the layer sets that you then have to clean up. You can even insert the objects as a symbol if you have the need. I use it all the time.

Right - the method Dan mentions works, as long as you have at least 1 entity on each layer.

Guys, thanks again for the help. I must have had Views and details turned on when I tried it the first time because as soon as I did what Neil suggested it worked fine

Can't tell you how much I appreciate all of you for your suggestions; this is helping me get back up to speed from DC10 to DC18!
