More and more frequently, when I go to close a file, or press F to save it, I get this message:

[file name] is in use by the following user:
User:
Computer:
DataCAD version: 11
Date Opened:
Time Opened:

Does anyone know how I can fix this? I don't even have version 11, so irritating!

Are you on a stand alone computer, or on a network? If the latter, is someone else been working in the file?

Are you by chance working from a Google Drive folder on your desktop? A while back I was trying to keep my working files in Google Drive and I would get this error. I couldn't find a solution, so stopped using Google Drive for my DataCAD files...

Hi all, thanks for the replies.

I am on a Network but the problem is not linked to anyone else opening the file. We only have three people on the network so I can keep track of who's doing what!

And no, I am not using Google Drive.

What is the file server? Is it one of the other computers on the network, or a stand alone machine? What version of Windows are you running, and what OS is on the file server?
