If you receive a DWG file from an Acad'r that used proxies, Dcad can't import them. As a workaround, I've found that if I open the DWG in BricsCAD (I haven't tried this with any other Acad clones) and save it as an Acad V12 DWG the proxies are converted to Acad blocks and come into Dcad as symbols.
