You can apply a solid fill to Polylines, 3D Polygons, and Slabs.

Whenever you're modeling something made up of multiple polygons with coincident edges and vertices, like a roof or site model, it can be frustrating to try and select a specific entity. Often, you've got a 50/50 chance (and DataCAD will sometimes pick the wrong one every time). We're working on some ways to make this easier in a future update, but in the meantime, I've got a 'Cheap Trick' for you.

Apply a Solid Fill (make sure Outline is enabled) to the polygons you are trying to edit. Choose a fill color that you can distinguish from the outline color so you can still see the edges of the entities you're trying to edit. Now when you're moving, erasing, adding a vertex, etc., you can simply click anywhere within (inside the boundary of) the polygon you want to edit, and DataCAD will get the right one every time.

Since DataCAD will display the filled polygons in any 3D view, you're not restricted to editing in Ortho (or Plan) view. You can also disable the display of fills temporarily by clicking the F in SWOTHLUDFBK.
