How can I trim an ellipse?

Erase / Partial is the only way that I can think of. Like any curve partial erase, you have to pick the segment you want to erase, as the last step.

Erase, Partial is the method you'll have to use to trim an ellipse to a line. If you look at the ellipse's properties in the Entity Properties Editor, you'll see that this changes its starting and ending angles. A closed curve has a starting angle of 0 and an ending angle (counter-clockwise from 0) of 360.
