1 line trimming smart arrows (head or tail)

There was a post about this in 2012 with no solution other than manually editing (stretch or polyline edit) each smart arrow (polyline).
Is there a way to select a line and trim all the arrows to it?

You can edit the polyline to line, and trim those, but then the arrow pointer lines go away, so probably not what you want.
