I am trying to do hatching on a xref, but I do not seem to be able to do an automatic continuous search to create the polyline. It does not seem to find anything to snap to in the xref. Is there a way to do this? I have layer search turned on, but that does not seem to make a difference.

I don't think it will work on an xref - you'll probably have to trace the boundary, or go to the xref and create the hatch there and move it to the other drawing.
