Is there a way to rename symbols that were created within the drawing?
You can open it in symbol editor and then do a save as.
You can right click it in the Symbol Browser and select save as
You can go to the folder it is in and do a rename.
All of these will not change the insterted symbol names, but after doing one of the upper options, you can do a replace all.
For your earlier question, you can do a identify on a symbol and the name and path should show in the info toolbar.
