Thank you - now i have to discover how to load the template into my dataCAD program. I see it is in dwg format for autoCAD.

Import the DWG into DataCAD, modify your drawing as needed, CTRL+T to open the Symbol Browser, then use Save Symbol.

They import into DataCAD as Drawing symbols:

There is a macro SYMTMPLT that will write out symbols from a file to a template, putting them into a directory that you select.
