Copy loop

Is there a potential error with a self-xRef and nesting on?
I worked on a file for a while with some xRef's (TitleBlock, MasterPlan (x3) and a self-xRef. It was only 533K when I transferred it to my draftsman. He drafted a while, then ended up locking up his computer and the file was over 46M, very unusual for our projects.
I'm wondering if there is an issue with a self xRef without a clip window, so it sees itself repeatedly. Correct?
Each group of marks is a bunch of xRef insertion points.
We have 22.00.08.01 (PE)

I would check the layers that are on in the self reference? It appears that the layer with the self reference on it, is on in the self reference, maybe?

Is nesting required for this self reference?

Nesting wasn't on in my machine; not sure if it was on in his. The problem appeared in his and replicated in mine. I think I was sloppy and did a self-xref on the layer being self x-ref'd, but I usually use a clip-cube window. I wonder if he turned it off or it didn't carry through to his machine?

Hi Dwight,

I think there is a way to open a file, and not open the XRefs / self references? This might make it possible/easier to open the file and then correct the layers in the Reference File Manager?
