When I hit the print command the file closes.
What causes that and how can I fix it?

Which 'Print' button is it crashing on?

Have you checked File > Print Setup?

The cause could be several things. Try CTRL+SHIFT+C right after you open the drawing to clear the print settings. If it still gives you issues, report back here.
