I get this error quite often when trying to open a file I know I closed correctly. I sometimes can open the file by importing it or by opening the back up file. This time I get the same error on the backup.
What could be causing this to happen.

Have you tried running Repair on it?

Yes, on both the aec file and the backup.

Is it just the one file that's throwing the error and what resolves it?

I guess if you can't open the AEC file you can send it to DataCAD LLC & have them take a look.

No, I get this error often ever since I updated DataCad (2) updates ago. I also get these errors.

Look in your DataCAD RECOVER_ARCHIVE folder and see if there are any LOG files for the drawings that are crashing. They might give an indication on what's causing the crashes, look at the last entries in the file.

Edit: Also look at your INI settings to see if you have logging ON.

There are no files in the RECOVER_ARCHIVE folder.
