Dear Forum Members,

We recently released an update to DataCAD versions 22.02.16. This update includes an enhancement intended to improve the readability of the drawing file name in the application title bar and restored drawing window.

This feature shortens path/filenames exceeding 144 characters for display in the title bar. However, we discovered an unintended side effect: the title bar is also used to associate the drawing with the MDI window. As a result, the truncated path becomes invalid, preventing DataCAD from saving the files to paths longer than 144 characters.

To address this, we have temporarily disabled the following key in the DCADWIN.ini file:

Max Program Title Length=144

Please update to the latest version through the Help menu by selecting Check for Update.

After the latest update, 23.00.01.02 (SE) I now get the below errors, but then DCad opens and appears to run fine.

This application requires the ielib32.dll plug-in, v8.0.0.0

and also
This application requires the ievisions.dll plug-in, V8.0.0.0

I have the ievision.dll and ielib32.dll ver 7.1.0.0 in the Utility Folder.

Hi Roger,

I double-checked the Installer projects source and both 22 & 23 include ievision.dll and ielib32.dll version 8.0.0.0. So, I'm not sure why the updater would not have installed them. These dlls are 32-bit should be in the DataCAD 22\ and DataCAD 23\ program folders. The dlls in the Utility folder are 64-bit (i.e., ielib64.dll and ievision64.dll.

If you have the version 8.0.0.0 dlls in either DataCAD 22 or 23, you can copy them over to the version that has 7.1.0.0.

I don't have v8 in either 22 or 23.

Did you run the DataCAD 22.02.17.01 updater?

You should download the full installers for both 22 and 23 and run a 'Repair' install.

I was just running the updater.
After running the Full Installer, issued resolved.
