Hello Folks,

There is a new and vicious type of malware - called ransomware - that ENCRYPTS your files and the only way to get anything from your computer is to pay them $1,000 to unlock the encryption. The latest is called TeslaCrypt 3.0.

This is as serious as a heart attack. Be careful out there.

So, back up your files DAILY - and run a recommended antivirus firewall program!

If your files got snagged yesterday by some ransomeware and your backup overwrites your previous good backup with the now encrypted ransomeware files, your screwed. We keep a 14 day rolling full backup, as well as everyday's modified files in separate locations, as well as Carbonite off site. Can't be too safe these days especially with users having access to the mess that is the internet.
