Visual Reality - Animation

I use VR for animations and perspective images for presentation purposes. I can often get a decent animation on the first try, but can never edit one already created, so have to remake until I get what I like. When I try to edit, I always get the dialog box "Animation must have a view at frame 1. It won't be loaded."
How do I get past this? I inserted a key view at frame one to create the animation; I've tried loading views before loading the animation to edit; but I still can't get past this message.
Help? :(
