The latest update to Microsoft Office 2016 allows you to add 3D objects to your Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents. A new 3D Models option has been added to the Insert tab of the ribbon. If you select the drop-down option,
From a file..., you can use the file dialog to browse to a DataCAD model you've exported to STL format.

The following file formats can be inserted into your document, but STL is the only one of these that DataCAD can export.

Once you've inserted your model, you can manipulate it similar to a bitmap or o2c object.

When the object is selected, you can use Format 3D Model panel to adjust the view rotation and camera position and cone of vision.

You can crop the view of your model by toggling on the Pan & Zoom option in the ribbon. Move your mouse over the object and click and drag to pan. Hover your mouse over the magnifier icon and click and drag to zoom.
