Hello,
Before someone can start a building construction, in our country its required a previous 'official' license to make it. Mainly this license is provided by the Municipal Authority but this is seconded by several other organs who deals with licenses, for water supply, sewerage system, electric energy supply, telephone connection, cable, etc.
I am curious to know how does it work in America.
Imagine that you have developed a project for a building which requires different projects for each area:
a) The building construction
Does it require licensing ?
Which other professionals handles it besides the architect ?
Who handles the licensing (generic organ name or branch) ?
b) Water supply
Does it require to present the project to be licensed ?
The architect can be responsible ?
Which other professionals handles it ?
Who handles the licensing, if any ?
c) Sewerage
Does it require to present the project to be licensed ?
The architect can be responsible ?
Which other professionals handles it ?
Who handles the licensing, if any ?
d) Electric supply
Does it require to present the project to be licensed ?
The architect can be responsible ?
Which other professionals handles it ?
Who handles the licensing, if any ?
e) Structural project (concrete, steel frames)
Does it require to present the project to be licensed ?
The architect can be responsible ?
Which other professionals handles it ?
Who handles the licensing, if any ?
f) Telephone installation
Does it require to present the project to be licensed ?
The architect can be responsible ?
Which other professionals handles it ?
Who handles the licensing, if any ?
g) Cable, TV
Does it require to present a project and a request for licensing ?
The architect can be responsible ?
Which other professionals handles it ?
Who handles the licensing, if any ?
h) Air Conditioning, Heating
Does it require to present the project to be licensed ?
The architect can be responsible ?
Which other professionals handles it ?
Who handles the licensing, if any ?
Thanks in Advance,
Miguel
