What is the runway enclosure requirement for a vertical platform lift that penetrates a floor?. The project is is Massachusetts. The MA elevator code refers to ANSI A17.1 1996 Section XX. The MA Building Code would require a one hour fire rated enclosure for a shaft that connects two floors yet the industry seems to be set up for a two hour rated enclosure. Is there something I'm missing in this?
