I seem to have trouble lining up my cursor with lines that I have drawn. I can't seem to line up the cursor so the line below it 'disappears' making it time consuming having to strech details into shape after drawing them. Never had this problem before.!

You'll have to excuse me if this is way too obvious -- but are you using object snapping? I.E. are you using the middle mouse button to snap to end points, intersections, etc.?
