I just wanted to share a quick review about a File Explorer replace software I have been using since Aug 2023. I was tired of Microsoft ruining Windows and File Explorer and removing functionality I used daily so I decided to start a search for an alternative. Long story short, I came across this video below from Joe Thio and feel in love. Having used the software for over a year now I feel like I have wasted so much actual time not having used this software sooner. It's SUPER powerful and customizable and supports multiple scripting languages. I took Joe's suggestion of starting with trying to duplicate File Explorer's current layout so I could continue to use my built in muscle memory and then have been tweaking and building things as I go a long and add features. It's been such a joy, that every time I have thought, 'you know what would be really handy to do this task, is X' and then being able to find out how to do exactly what I wanted to do is possible. It's just amazing to use and is truly a user centric piece of software. The software's primary programmer Leo Davidson is fantastic in responding to everyone on their user forum and pretty much everything I have needed I have been able to find there. You can find me over there under the username 'StickyFrog'. :D So if you are someone who wants things to just work the way YOU want them to, look no further and check out Directory Opus. It is payware, but their terms are very user friendly. Worth every penny IMHO for an essential daily driver that saves me time and money every time I use it. They have perpetual licenses. I will be using this software until I die!
