I have this "older" laptop that runs GREAT!!! I just need more storage space. It currently has a 60 GB IDE harddrive. My question is can I use a SATA harddrive? I have been looking on Newegg and the SATA harddrives are bigger and are less money than IDE. Thanks for the help.

No, not in a laptop. In a desktop, you can either install a SATA controller or use an adapter; but in a laptop, neither of these things are possible. So, you'll have to buy a 2.5" IDE harddrive before they stop making them!

Yes, if the stock hard drive is a SATA, then you need to put another SATA unit in there! But if the stock HD is an IDE, then you gotta' use another IDE...
