IMSI is offering this as well, but the price is currently marked down below what VI has listed.

I purchased a similar product which did turn a PDF into a DWG file - but it was similar to what WinTopo does, and I wound up with a messy DWG file that took forever to clean-up.

Use with caution, and realize it may be faster to import the PDF per Mark T's tutorial and just trace it.

FWIW, too.

We use PDF2DXF from http://anydwg.com with pretty good results. The text breaks down to primitive entities but the line work is to scale (when the original is to scale of course)

Hi Mark, Josh,

Another converter is Any PDF to DWG converter (http://www.anydwg.com ) which works well. My next question is, is there any way to prevent a PDF drawing from being converted into a vector format as it is becoming an increasing concern to us where our work, once submitted openly to the Development Consent Authority, gets into the hands of contractors who employ cheap drafters who then convert the PDF's to CAD files and then approach the developer to undercut our work and offer a 1-stop shop for design+construct...without the architect

You could reprint the pdfs using a pdf printer driver & set it to 'Print as Images' so it drops the meta data.
