This may be useful for anybody building their own computer, or having a custom computer built. Silent PC Review is a great resource for many things about making quiet(er) computers, and I have been moderating their site for years. This is their updated recommended computer cases article:

It may look conventional, but the motherboard is rotated 90 degrees so the plugs that are normally on the back, are on the top instead. This allows the case to act as a thermal "chimney" to use natural convection flow to occur more easily. And it has lots of other "quiet" features, too.
