We did most of this query, on Dbug, but I have one last question..

I take it that when you set the 3d knife to a level z height, that when it gives you a cu yd figure tht it is averaging out the fill and cut area... i.e. cut =8yds, fill =10 yds so the total that it gives you would be "Fill = 2yds"

Is this assumtion correct?

At present, yes. This will be changed to show both the Cut and Fill values, rather than the difference of the two.
