Just seems like that would make more sense, but again what do I know
Hello Josh,
The basic difference among DataCAD and other Windows applications is that the 'selection' ability is available every moment in this other softwares, what allows to 'capture' the data content of this selection putting it up on a temporary memory place, the Clipboard.
That's why you need there one step less then here.
To transfer this same 'logic' to DataCAD, you should invert the ordinary steps from choosing the operation (feature/command) and later selecting the objects that will receive the action.
If the use of Ctrl+C is really important to you, just replace the 'Ctrl+C' from "Copy" command to the 'Ctrl+E' of the Clipboard area, at DCADWIN.MNU file at your '\Support files' and try sometime with this swap.
You can judge by yourself if it is really useful.
With this change the 'Clipboard' will be called by using 'Ctrl+C' and the 'Copy' itself will be done with 'Ctrl+E', or [S5 Copy] menu option inside it.
Don't forget that for many 'old' users 'Ctrl+C' was indeed the shut down of every command and return into the 2D Edit main menu. I personaly miss it today (since V.9) and have replaced this short-cut by a '
;' to go back straight to the main menu.
Thanks,
Miguel
