My desktop is dead and I was not able to dectivate. I'm sure there is a way to do this in DataCad website but I cannot find it, V19 is already installed and I have the numbers

There is a way for you to deactivate the previous installation of a DataCAD license directly on the license sever, even if the computer with the license activation has crashed or is otherwise inaccessible.

You can login to the License Portal, using your DataCAD license ID and password. Through the License Portal, you can view your customer information, check your license activation, and even deactivate a license.

This is the link to the License Portal. <--- Click Me!

"IT NEEDS TO BE PROMINENT"

Hi Nick. I have the link saved/synced in all my browsers/machines. Saves a lot of time hunting up the link. It's just there when I need it - which seems to be a lot more often the older I get ;-)

Hi Nick,
I also recently had a computer failure and needed to transfer the licence to a new machine. Fortunately I still had the original email advising my licence id and password which also had a link to the licence server. I agree that it would be nice if there a link on the DataCAD home page, but I have now stored the url in my Password Manager program together with the id & password for convenience.
Deactivating the old licence and activating on the new machine was pretty straightforward and painless.
Rgds,
David H.

Thank you, gentlemen

We are now back in business, and I have copied the link to my .txt with the license numbers.

You might note the times when I posted and Dave replied.

Sorry I was a wee bit slow on this one Nick!

Happy you are back up and running.

He must have been lingering down by the coffee pot.
It's kind of sad when you see a person just lose interest in providing good service.

Every day that I use DataCAD, I thank my lucky stars. This is a perfect example of why I do.
It's not like Clay or Mark ignore us either.
