Cheat Sheet for Custom Line Types (DataCAD 10 and earlier versions)

  • You must reload DataCAD to be sure new line types are shown.
  • You can have a maximum of 175 user-defined line types.
  • You cannot change the built-in line types Solid, Dotted, Dashed or Dot-Dash.
  • Negative distances are for 'strokes' which are not to be drawn to the screen.
  • Negative angles are simply the reverse of the positive angle (-90 = +270).
  • '>' is the prefix for adjusting a line type to fit.
  • '*' is the prefix for not adjusting a line type to fit.
  • Line type definitions must not exceed 19 'strokes'.
  • Line type definitions must not exceed 100 units.
  • DataCAD will ignore extra spaces in the *.LIN file so you can make your text legible.
